Hannah Kaufman Joseph is an attorney at Joseph and Turow PC where she focuses her practice on business law and entrepreneurial services.  Hannah is an Indiana business attorney who provides common sense guidance on complex issues including business entity selection and formation, commercial and real estate transactions, strategic planning, drafting and negotiation of contracts and leases, trademark, copyright, and licensing, and business disputes.  Hannah is one of the only attorneys in Indiana to offer experienced legal guidance on promotional law, including advertising, sweepstakes, contests, consumer privacy, and e-commerce related issues.

Prior to joining Joseph and Turow, Hannah worked as corporate counsel to The Finish Line, Inc.  As Finish Line corporate counsel, Hannah gained a unique understanding of balancing the business needs of a for-profit enterprise against the legal risks that face every company.  Hannah and her husband have also started their own business, King David Dogs, an Indianapolis restaurant that has already opened two locations in less than three years.  These combined experiences have given Hannah a unique perspective into the legal needs of a small business owner.  Hannah is an entrepreneur, and can therefore provide thoughtful, cost-effective guidance to individuals hoping to start-up a for-profit enterprise or facing business-related legal issues.

Additionally, Hannah has handled matters including securities fraud, compliance with state and federal securities registration requirements, private placement issues, commercial contract disputes, business litigation, and employment issues.

Hannah has an extensive background in securities and insurance. She has passed the Series 7, 63, and 65. These exams have licensed her as a stockbroker and a registered investment advisor. She is also a registered agent to sell life, accident and health insurance and is certified to offer long-term care products.

Hannah has also recently accepted a position as an Adjunct Professor at the Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis.  She will be teaching a contract drafting course beginning in the fall semester of 2010.

Aside from the practice of law, Hannah is an animal lover, an avid reader, a free-lance writer, and an ardent Colts fan.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, twin sons and two dogs.
