An attorney with Casey Gerry since 1999, Wendy M. Behan practices in the areas of personal injury and pharmaceutical products liability. She is currently involved in Hydroxycut MDL litigation in San Diego, as well as Yaz and Zicam product cases, and has been involved in the litigation against the manufacturers of Rezulin, Propulsid, Baycol and Metabolife. She was also an integral member of the litigation team in the lawsuits filed on behalf of American Prisoners of War who were brutally abused and exploited as slave laborers by Japanese companies during World War II.

In addition to her busy legal practice, Behan is involved in many community and professional organizations. In fact, she recently joined the ranks of local luminaries such as Bonnie Dumanis, Lynn Schenk, and Marilyn Huff to be elected present of Lawyers Club San Diego, which since 1972 has sought to advance the status of women in law and society. Behan will be official induced as president at the Lawyers Club Annual Dinner on May 26.

Behan, 37, will serve as president for one year for 2010-2011, spearheading the board of directors for the organization, a voluntary bar association comprised of female and male attorneys, judges, law students and others in the San Diego community.

In addition, she serves as a mentor to law students and new attorneys through Lawyers Club and Cal Western mentor programs, served on the planning committee for Couture for a Cause for the Association of Legal Administrators in 2009, and served as a member of the Lawyers Club Membership Development Committee and then co-chair prior to joining its Board of Directors.

Ms. Behan graduated from California Western School of Law cum laude and earned honors including Dean’s List, the Wiley W. Manual Pro Bono Services Award and an American Jurisprudence Award.

Prior to joining Casey Gerry, Ms. Behan performed internships at the U.S. Attorney's Office; the Office of Corporate Counsel, Washington, D.C.; the San Diego Public Defender, Juvenile Delinquency Division; and the U.S. Trustee's Office. She also clerked for San Diego Superior Court Judge Susan D. Huguenor in Juvenile Court.

In her spare time, Ms. Behan enjoys spending time with her husband, Sean, and their two sons, Connor (age 9) and Colin (age 5). She is an active volunteer with her children’s school and sports teams, as well. She is a supporter of breast cancer charities. In 2007, she completed the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure 60 mile walk with her mother, a breast cancer survivor.
