Nicolle brings to ARAG a breadth of experience having worked five years in the Air Force as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) during which time she held the roles of criminal prosecutor, family law attorney, claims and tax attorney, and defense counsel. After her service as a JAG, she worked as a Consultant for a large insurance company. Nicolle received her bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from Iowa State University, and attended Drake University Law School in Des Moines, where she received her juris doctorate degree.

In her role at ARAG, Nicolle writes and reviews contracts, advises on legal and liability issues and evaluates all attorney communications and processes, in addition to managing nine employees and three departments: the Legal Department; the Regulatory Compliance Department which creates all plan documents and ensures all state and federal regulatory requirements are met; and the Provider Relations Department which ensures all prospective and current network attorneys’ needs are met and effectively negotiates and places referrals with out of network attorneys.

Nicolle serves on the Small Law Department Committee of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC). She also served on the board of the Polk County Women Attorneys as well as the Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys, for both of which she is currently a member. Nicolle is also a member of the Polk County Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel. She is also involved in children’s ministries and youth outreach programs.
