Lisa M. Buckley joined Pryor Cashman in 1996 and has been a partner since January 2000. Her major practice area is litigation, including complex commercial, securities, intellectual property and entertainment litigation and arbitration, primarily involving music licensing, publishing and recording. Lisa advises clients on securities-related issues, participates in National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) arbitrations and represents clients in connection with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) investigations and other matters. She also represents entertainment clients in cases alleging copyright and trademark infringement, theft of trade secrets and violations of the rights of privacy and publicity.

Lisa is a 1989 honors graduate of Rutgers University School of Law, where she was Order of the Coif and a Tischler Scholar.

Suzanne Herbert Horvatin Hoy was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and grew up in Pittsburgh as an only child surrounded by family–grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins. On May 17, 1975 she married Emmart Yost Hoy Jr. They have four children, as well as 2 dogs and 3 cats.

Suzanne graduated from Marietta College in 1972. She took Graduate courses from 1976 to 1980 in accounting and psychology. Suzanne started law school at University of Toledo in fall 1985, and graduated in 1988 with her Juris Doctor degree.

Suzanne served as a substitute teacher in Columbus Public Schools 1973, and she taught in various schools from 1973 to 1985.

She then started law school, and she drove 220 miles round trip every day for 3 years, for a total of 103,000 miles to earn her law degree.

Suzanne served in private practice from 1988-1996 in St. Mary’s, Ohio, serving as a part-time prosecutor in Mercer County, Ohio and part-time magistrate in Auglaize County. She served in medium law firm of Maguire and Schneider LLP from 1997 to 2002 in Columbus, Ohio.

Suzanne then served as staff attorney for Judge Kim Browne, Franklin County Ohio Domestic and Juvenile Courts for 1 year.

Now Suzanne serves as Attorney II for Franklin County Child Support Enforcement Agency from 2003 until present.

Suzanne loves her job – putting deadbeats in jail. She adores family and friends.

Suzanne enjoys cross stitching, some reading, more watching TV, and lots of wine drinking.

Saundra Gumerove Interview

Saundra Gumerove has enjoyed a distinguished legal career that spans nearly 30 years, practicing in the areas of special needs, corporate law, banking, commercial finance, real estate, workouts and creditor’s rights. Her experience encompasses a wide spectrum of legal matters, both advisory and transactional, on behalf of domestic and foreign financial institutions, corporations and individuals.

She earned a B.A. degree from the School of Government and Public Administration at American University, and a J.D. degree from Hofstra University Law School. She worked for Senator Charles Goodell for four years, and later for North Carolina Congressman James Broyhill as a legislative assistant and caseworker. Saundra has represented well-known financial institutions and borrowers in various loan transactions, such as term loans, revolving credits and real estate transactions, asset-based finance, leasing, sales, and lender liability. She is experienced in representing businesses and individuals in the purchase and sale of residential and commercial real estate, in lending relationships, and in general corporate legal matters.

Saundra has been published and quoted in trade journals and consumer publications, including American Banker, Newsday and Long Island Business News. She has presented numerous seminars on corporate financial topics. The birth of Saundra’s first child was the defining moment that literally changed her life. She now defines herself as a lawyer, an advocate, and most importantly, the parent of a developmentally disabled, learning disabled and medically involved young adult.

When Saundra noticed that many parents of children with disabilities were facing similar issues Saundra began to refocus her practice on the acquisition of vital services for those with special needs – including special education, guardianship, estate and life planning, and Special Needs Trusts. She created Advokidsblog.com, an active forum and educational resource for these issues.

As a crusader for special needs, Saundra has testified before the New York State Assembly and the New York State Senate on pertinent issues affecting the disability community. with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Saundra is the proud recipient of the prestigious Long Island Works Coalition Workforce Builder Award for three years in a row. She is active in the NYSARC Board of Governors, AHRC Nassau, the Brookville Center for Children’s Services, and the Birchwood Civic Association. She has been active with the Jericho School Board, the Nassau-Suffolk School Boards Association, the Sturge-Weber Foundation, and the New York State School Boards Association. She is a member of County Executive Suozzi’s Autism Subcommittee on Adult Autism.

Saundra has participated in Continuing Legal Education programs for the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, and Suffolk County Bar Association. She has also presented seminars for parents of children with disabilities for Nassau-AHRC, Life’s WORC, and the Developmental Disabilities Institute, among others. Saundra was named a Trustee of Life’s WORC Supplemental Pooled Trust. She was voted “Woman of the Year” by the Town of Oyster Bay and elected VP of the Board of AHRC Nassau County. She received the Mets Spirit Award during Disability Awareness Night at Shea Stadium for her work on behalf of disabled Americans. She was recently named 2010 Public Interest Attorney of the Year by the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. She received this honor for her advocacy work with individuals with special needs, particularly those with developmental disabilities. She addressed the Academy of Special Needs Planners National Conference in Charleston, SC, were she presented a seminar titled, “Special Ed Advocacy and Litigation.”

Devoted to the Long Island community where she lives and practices, Saundra contributes both time and talent to many good causes. She is a sought-after speaker in the areas of special needs and corporate law, and is an adjunct professor at St. Joseph’s College. She has recently been inducted into the Jericho High School Hall of Fame. Saundra is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Nassau County Bar Association. She resides with her husband Jeff in Jericho, NY, and is the proud mother of three lovely daughters.

This Pennsylvania native is a proud graduate of the Pennsylvania State University (PSU) – and a loyal football fan. After graduation from PSU, she headed to Southern California where she attended Loyola Law School. During law school, and while she studied for the California Bar, she clerked for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Insurance Fraud Department. Upon admission to the California Bar, she moved from the DA’s office to the firm of Perona, Langer, and Beck, where she worked on plaintiff ’s insurance and business litigation cases. With her specialized knowledge of insurance and issues facing business clients, she moved to the firm of Holland, Schechter, and Feinstine, where she worked on a variety of business law cases and insurance coverage issues on behalf of various fortune 500 companies.

Rhonda is a member of the California, Virginia, and District of Columbia State Bars. She believes strongly in the importance of staying on top of the latest changes in the law, as well as the newest ways to save her clients money. She is a proud member of Wealth Counsel, Liemberg Listserve, and the Northern Virginia Estate Planning Council. She lives by a strong personal philosophy that it is important to give back to your community. She is a member of Soroptimist International, a non-profit that raises money for women and children’s causes, and serves as a Board Member and Pro Bono General Counsel for Canine Support Teams, a non-profit that trains dogs to work with disabled individuals.

Laurie Giles, a graduate of Springfield College and Rutgers University School of Law founded the Law Office of Laurie Giles 20 years ago with the guiding principles that clients deserve and must receive compassionate, experienced, and aggressive representation.
