Kyra Howell is the founding and sole member of The Howell Law Firm, PLLC, an estate and business planning law firm in Sperryville, Virginia near the Blue Ridge Mountains. Kyra has been an attorney for 14 years, and after practicing in the corporate world in New York, and then on Capitol Hill and in a larger law firm in Washington, DC, she started The Howell Law Firm in 2005.

After four years of a successful practice, Kyra gave up her brick and mortar office in August 2009 and reconfigured her practice from a general practice to a more specialized one after the birth of her third child, focusing on family estates and small businesses. She now conducts her law practice from home, meeting clients in their homes or at their businesses. Her oldest child will start kindergarten this fall. Given the large number of layoffs from law firms and the economic difficulty faced by many attorneys over the past two years, Kyra has decided to share her secrets for success through her blog – www.powerlawyersathome.com/blog.
